“ Even though this is a bit out of the way as a Berkeley student, I often come here for the amazing food, people, and vibe. I usually get the two way dinner with pork ribs and beef brisket. It comes with two sides, and I love the potato salad. The cooks and servers are always super friendly and quick. It is a bit pricey, but when you consider the fact that it's all meat and the portions are huge so you can split it into multiple meals, it's fine. I just wish they had cornbread ”
“ When you think of good Barbeque this spot better come to mind if you're in the
Bay Area. We had the BBQ 1/2 chicken with med sauce, bbq beans, and potato
salad. It was spot on delicious.
The chicken was perfectly cooked with that wood flavor. It hit all the right
notes. The sweet tangy sauce w/the slightest touch of heat was superb. BBQ beans
were a great complimentary side to this feast and the potato salad w/a good kick
of vinegar, perfect silky texture and slight chunk of potatoes leaves your
palate smiling.
The service was quick and courteous. We will be back and highly recommend this
to other with a down home bbq itch!!! ”
“ I've been going to the Everett-Jones on San Pablo at University for almost 40 years. I love the ribs and sauce. It is my last meal request. Get a slab of ribs, eat em in the back of the parking lot, or down at Berkeley Pier, or drive up to Lawrence Hall and look down at the lights while gnawing on ribs and that sauce. The ribs can be good, and the ribs can be great, but the sauce is the best. I go to other bbq joints and think how much better their bbq could be with Everett-Jones sauce. I buy the sauce in jars at Safeway, I'm about a jar a week user, there's not many things that are not improved with that sauce. The service can be a little short at times, that's part of the experience, wait in line, step up and order, know what you want, don't stammer, people are waiting behind you, say thanks and put a few dollars in the tip jar ( who broke that fish tip jar? ) hope for a good spot to stand and read bumper stickers until your number is called. Enjoy! ”
“ This is one of my favorite places to get BBQ. The meat is always tender and the
BBQ sauce is oh so good.
They serve healthy portions. A two way dinner is more than enough for 2 ppl.
I've met the owner Mary. She's a very sweet and kind woman.
I happened to go by on my birthday last year.
She gave me a free dessert for my birthday.
I travel from Richmond Ca to Berkeley just for Everette and Jones ”
